Physiotherapy Ergonomics, Workstations And Productivity
55% of workers reported decreased work and activity participation as a
result of general aches and pains in their muscles and joints, that affects
work and their personal lives.
Ergonomics commonly affected
everyone – repetitive strain injuries is caused by repeated stress and resisted
trauma, which can be simply caused by poor posture.
There are many examples:
hunched over one’s computer,
intensively with next strongly extended for prolonged period of time
placed too low or too high at the desk, resulting in the worker bending one’s
neck too low or too high
- chair is
too low, causing one having the need to raise one’s shoulder and hands too high
setting that is too dark or too much glare, causing tiredness to the eyes and
strain repetitive trauma, such as lifting heavy
objects, stapling documents
- chair that is too big/large for the individual,
causing one’s leg to dangle off the edge of the chair. This can cause the
middle of the thigh to rest heavily on the chair, and cause numbness.
