Physiotherapy and rehab with phoenix May Be Covered By your Health Insurance
Understand and Know Your physio / rehab coverage

Here are Phoenix Rehab, we are a registered physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, chiropractic, clinical pilates with Singapore Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) and TCM Board (both are regulated by Singapore's Ministry Of Health MOH) - so far, we have not experienced any rejections by insurance companies at all for any receipts from our clinics (rejection only happens if patients' insurance coverage is limited / exceeded).

If you're not sure what/how to proceed, please contact us and we'll be more than happy to assist you - talk soon!

Hello there - Nigel and Louise here.

We'd like to let you know and assure you that since 2008, we've been practicing and running private rehabilitation clinics that provide the following services

  • physiotherapy
  • occupational therapy
  • hand therapy
  • podiatry
  • pilates
  • chiropractic
  • sports and deep tissue massage
  • acupuncture and TCM

In our many years of experience as a senior clinical therapists and administrator for the physiotherapy and rehab company that we run, over the years, we have learnt a little more about how patients who have personal accident insurance plan or other forms of insurance may be able to claim their physiotherapy, hand therapy and other rehab sessions with us.

Note that we fully believe in compliance and doing things well as well as helping you improve your pain-free movements and sports performance with your health insurance coverage.

Some programs that you can consider:

To guide you, what we often ask patients to either check with their insurer, insurance agent or their company human resource (HR) department to check for their individual and corporate insurance/medical coverage on the following:

First, we need to understand and know what is covered

This translates to

  • quantum - how much coverage cost-wise ie $500, $1000, $2000 and more
  • duration - how long you are covered for (days/months-wise)
  • what coverage - is it physiotherapy, hand therapy, occupational therapy, TCM, chiropractice etc

per injury, post surgery and/or post hospitalization

When in doubt, either speak to your insurer / insurance agent or human resource department

For some patients who are using company benefits (be it credits or cash), please check with your human resource (HR) depart as to how much coverage and when does financial year end restarts or ends.

what / is there a process to get covered insurance wise

Different companies and insurance providers have different processes.

Usually it's a 2-step process of

  1. a referral form for physiotherapy/occupational therapy/etc as well
  2. pay-and-claim approach (meaning you pay first then claim from your insurer / HR)

For some patients, they have to see panel GP first, to be referred to panel specialists then get a physiotherapy referral to see us to get covered for physiotherapy / hand therapy.

For some insurance or companies DO NOT require referral forms to see us

In fact, you do NOT need referral forms for our principal physiotherapists, hand therapists, etc to treat you, you can just contact us and make an appointment, especially if it's too painful and you don't want to wait.

Truly, it all depends on your insurance or HR / staff benefits claims process.

is there cashless insurance facilities for physiotherapy, hand therapy and TCM at phoenix rehab?

Yes, we have a number of cashless insurance facilities for patients - contact us to check.

We are also always looking to extend our cashless services, so if you know any companies or insurance companies looking for more panel physiotherapists / hand therapists / TCM, please let us know too.

you can see our tcm without a referral form* if you had an injury and covered under accident plan

If you are covered under Accident Plan insurance, you are likely able to see and get treatment from our TCM physician for any accident-related TCM treatments without having to get a referral form from a doctor.

The reason for this is because

  • firstly, TCM physicians are Chinese doctors / physicians in their own right
  • our TCM physician is fully regulated under TCM board

So far none of our TCM bills have been rejected by insurance - of course, this is all subject to your accident plan term and condition, coverage etc.

Sports and deep tissue release massage helps to increase nutrient-rich blood flow to tired, tight and tense muscles to accelerate recovery and  shorten downtime / recovery period required.

It also prevents muscles from scar tissue micro-tears (and potential ruptures), and increases muscle performance. Having regular deep tissue and sports massage will keep your muscles healthy and fit with body/movement-confidence.

Read the benefits of regular deep tissue release therapy here.

All our allied health therapists and TCM physicians are fully insured and registered with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) and Traditional Chinese Medicine Board (TCMB).
