Injuries and conditions that are suitable for our TCM pain management approaches includes conditions such as

As pain is very subjective, it not only affects one's physical well being - it often also affects one's mental and emotional well being too. When one is introduced to effect pain management TCM Singapore, one may ease the suffering and improve one's quality of life.

Sports Injuries

Sports injuries often affect a myriad of physical body, from the bones, to the joints to the ligaments, muscles and tendons, as a result from direct, acute trauma or repetitive strain injury associated with sporting activities.

This is not a condition common only to serious athletes, but also often affects individuals who exercise on an amateur or recreational level, and we treat all levels of individuals with sports (we have treated international athletes, recreational athletes and professional athletes, and to people who are not even sporting).

Common injuries can be a back muscle pull from an incorrect swing, to a wrist pain by a speeding ball, to a twisted ankle by an accidental twist on the field.

Orthopedic Conditions

Orthopedic conditions range from disorders of the bones, joints, muscles and connective tissues, ligaments and cartilage.

Management of sports injuries and orthopedic conditions include pain management, diagnosis and treatment, as well as prevention, with the main objective of expediting the recovery process, so that one recovers and is able to perform at a similar or better level before the injury.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Approach

The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective of pain management is that pain management is achieved with a combination of acupuncture, Tui Na and bodyworks.

The advantage of TCM lies in its abilities to treat both the symptoms and root cause of the problem, ensuring a more mid to long term results-approach for sustainability.

Often, side effects are bare minimal with no risks of addiction to treatment approaches.

Acupuncture clears blockage within the meridians and strengthens the flow of qi and blood; it restores the healthy balance of Yin & Yang, hence alleviating pain. World Health Organization has recognized that acupuncture has been proven, through controlled trials, to be an effective treatment for various conditions such as facial pain, headache, knee pain, low back pain, neck pain, periarthritis of shoulder, postoperative pain, rheumatoid arthritis, sciatica, sprain, tennis elbow etc.

Tui Na facilitates the recovery of adhesions, dispersing blood stasis and swelling, and helps to correct joint and soft tissue dislocations. It helps to stimulate blood circulation and accelerate repair of damaged tissue, hence relieving pain. For instance, tui na is used as a treatment for a variety of sprains, tennis elbow, cervical spondylosis, tenosynovitis, periarthritis of shoulder, shoulder impingement syndrome, strains and back pain, lumbar disc herniation, sacroiliac joint injuries.
