Foam Roller for trigger points and myofascial release

Casual use of The Fit Bar™ foam rollers will provide all the benefits associated with deep tissue massage, which includes myofascial release, relaxation and stress relief. Regular and dedicated use of The Fit Bars foam roller will help you to achieve a deeper level of myofascial release, the loosening of both the muscles (where the word “myo” is taken from) and the connective tissue (fascia) which surrounds them both.

Benefits of myofascial release:

  • increases blood circulation
  • increases muscle, joints and fascia flexibility
  • restores normal length of muscles leading to regaining healthy posture
  • provide a sense of well being throughout the entire body

Fascia is a layer of tissue that is found throughout our entire body, and it is continuous, like connected carriages of a train. It connects the top of our head to the tips of our toes. Usually fascia is well-hydrated and supple, allowing it to move and glide smoothly over structures such as joints and muscles.

In people who have an active lifestyle, it is very common for our fascia to have micro/mini-tears that causes the fascia to “stick” to the muscle (during the healing of the tears).

Gradually, these “sticky” spots slowly become tender and painful knots in the muscles and fascia, and when further unattended, they become trigger points that cause long term tightness, discomfort and pain. That’s why myofascial release has so much benefits - you get the comfort and relaxation of body.

Adding on to the issue of adhesions, it also affect our entire body’s network of fascia overall. How we can tell this is evidence of growing tightness throughout the entire body. An unhealthy myofascial network can lead to decreased fitness levels, pains and aches that seem to last for an usually long periods of time, feeling sluggish, depression and generally a diminished quality of life.

Having an option of practicing daily self massage and myofascial release using The Fit Bar foam roller will help you to treat your aching body, as well as to build and sustain a healthy musculoskeletal system, which is akin to regular tooth brushing to maintain healthy teeth and gums. The Fit Bar™ system involves rolling the body as a whole, and requires about an hour or so to learn.
