Spinal Pain Physiotherapy
6 in 10 adults suffer from back and neck pain every year, and out of these 6, 3 of them, their back pain unfortunately becomes long term pain.
Back or neck pain can be caused by issues with the discs, the joints, the muscles and the ligaments of the spine; but most of the time, it's caused by trauma or injuries such as falls or accidents, poor postural habits as well as repetitive strain over time.
That being said, there are other causes of back and neck pain too, such as inflammation or more rare but serious problems such as arthritis and other progressive diseases that affects bones, joints and muscles.
Spinal Pain Physiotherapy
A spine problem can cause sciatica where the nerve that's being compressed translates into pain, numbness and/or tingling down the buttocks, leg, ankle and foot. Sciatica can be triggered even by very small "normal everyday" movements such as bending to pick up something or from trauma.
Unfortunately, sciatica can also be caused by a stretching-type of injury and in some cases, happen for no obvious reason at all. It affects mainly one side of the back/leg/foot, and pain that radiates down the lower back into the back of leg and thigh is quite common.
Our specialist physiotherapists are experienced, trained and experts in assessing and diagnosing issues in the joints and soft tissues and will thoroughly assess and treat you.
Spinal Pain Physiotherapy Symptoms
Spinal physiotherapy is a very effective conservative management of sciatica and back/neck related pain. Treatments by our specialist physiotherapists will be able to relieve spine nerve root compression caused by fibrous scar tissue post slipped disc as well as treat conditions that are related to compression of the sciatic nerve too.
Other than treating the pain, discomfort and tingling, we also will
ensure that we give and go through with our patients very specific and
effective back exercises to strengthen their core and back muscles to
take away the pain and build better and more stable movements.
Studies have shown that specific exercise therapies and prescription from fully qualified and experienced specialist physiotherapists is vital in the successful management and treatment of back-related pains.
Spinal Pain Physiotherapy Treatments
Specialist spine physiotherapists are trained, experienced and experts in assessing and treating back and neck problems, One of the most important thing to realize is that back and neck pains can be prevented by training and keeping the muscles strong but flexible and by being cautious in not practicing bad back habits.
Treatments can include:
If you find that you have back or neck pain, or know someone who does, do consider seeing our specialist spine physiotherapist.
